"Holmes" (Basil Rathbone) and "Watson" (Nigel Bruce) find themselves in Quebec investigating the ghoulish murder of "Lady Penrose" who has had her throat "torn out" by a monster that has the local community petrified. Of course, it cannot be a monster so our duo deduce their way to the real culprit....
